The Maryland Horse Council, Inc. (MHC) is the § 501(c)(6) trade association that has represented the Maryland horse industry for over 35 years. Our core mission is to lobby state and local government for sensible and economically sound positions, and to provide educational and business networking resources for the Maryland horse community.

The Maryland horse industry is impressive. There are more horses per square mile (10.5) in Maryland than in any other state in the country, and 51.8% of Maryland households contain at least one horse enthusiast. Our industry contributes $2.4 billion to the Maryland economy.
